I *adored* Lorraine Bracco in this role. It would be kind of ridiculous to say that I 'shipped' Tony and Dr. Melfi, but their scenes were totally my favorite dynamic in the show.

I was always conflicted about Tony/Melfi. On the one hand, I really wanted them to sleep together, but I also knew if they did, it would ruin everything. They definitely had the best chemistry, even better than Tony/Carmela.

I think these two had a powerful kind of bromance.LOL If you can call it that when it invovles members of the opposite sex.;) Maybe in a past life they were a power couple, or family, but in this one their connection was as healthy and constructive as it could be for people in this situation.
