I am so glad you included little Olive on this list! Wade and I rented this movie on New Year's Eve...five and a half years ago? and I laughed so hard at her "routine", I literally sobbed. I've never laughed so hard in my life. Wade thought he was going to have to call 911 so I could be rescusisated (wtf spelling, honey badger don't care!). This movie was such an underrated gem.

Nan and I rented it when it first came out, and Nan laughed so hard, she wet herself. Every time my cousin Jolene and I hear Super Freak we immediately start doing this dance. Abigail Breslin is just too adorable for words, and Steve Carell in this movie is just wonderful.

Alan Alda, still my favorite. What a wildly inappropriate role model. And those are the best kinds.

"My advice: fuck a lot of women!"

(Alan Alda was Hawkeye on MASH; Grandpa was Alan Arkin)

I just tried to Netflix "LMS" just to watch that scene, and of course, they didn't have it for streaming, so I cancelled my account. That's literally the last fucking straw, seriously. Grrr.

I saw this movie in the theatre with my mom and we were both literally gasping for breath while crying we were laughing so hard at certain parts. This family was just so real it was impossible not to love them in all their ridiculousness.

Paul Dano was my favorite part (especially his scenes with Steve Carrell), but Abigail Breslin was definitely a close second!

I love the first "conversation" Paul and Steve have where Paul writes him a note asking him to please not kill himself in the middle of the night. That was when I knew I loved him.

Frank: So who do you hang around with?
Dwayne: [shakes his head]
Frank: No one?
Dwayne: [whips out a pen and notebook from his back pocket. bangs the end of the pen on table and writes on a notepad: "I Hate Everyone."]
Frank: What about your family?
Dwayne: [deeply underlines "Everyone"]

OH, THIS MOVIE <3 I saw it in a theatre with my friends after my 10th grade finals; BEST DECISION EVER. It was so, so epic. And the brother who didn't talk because he was following some Nietzschean philisophy and wanted to be a Pilot and found out he was color blind; just GUH. AND OLIVE IS THE ACTUAL BEST. THAT LAST DANCE WAS LEGITIMATELY FLAWLESS.

I think it's the knee pads which really pull together the dance. Like, in case you weren't aware this is a stripping routine, let me show you these knee pads for when she crawls around on the ground.

This list is so awesome and diverse!

Also just wanted to say, have you ever heard the score? It's some of my favorite writing music.

My goal is to try to have as many different kinds of characters as possible. And we haven't even gotten to the whole mess of characters from tv shows/movies I loved as a kid.

I've heard bits and pieces of the score. I'll have to check it out.
