Monday brought the arts banquet and was a lot of fun, I picked up the Senior Woodwind award :D No "musician of the year" award was given, which makes me kind of glad, because I didn't want to win it again and the seniors didn't really deserve it because they're pretty lazy about band. I was kind of hoping he would have given it to Alyson, because she's the best musician at our age that I know. The dance part was kind of gay, seeing as I have no attachments at the moment we merely walked around and talked for a few hours.
Tuesday was the school's awards day.. I felt really crappy because I did almost no work this year in any classes and got the Highest Standing for gr11. I also got the highest standing in 4 classe: Chemistry, Biology, Music, and Gr12 Physics. Recognition is nice, but I didn't feel like I deserved it. I also got an award for being SAC Treasurer which was a nice gesture. Britt got strings, Aly got the merit award, how exciting! I was happy for her because she was having a down week the week before. Britt Aly and I stayed and talked to Van til nearly twenty to four. I'm going to miss those talks so much, lol, I looked forward to our Tuesday sessions the whole spring.
Wednesday was the final assembly and last day of classes. It was a sad farewell to all the strangers. The talent show went well, got a lot of signatures for my yearbook (which we get next fall) and as next year's graduating class (shiver) we "claimed" the gallery by running from the gym screaming and crying and making a whole lot of noise. It's a beautiful tradition, the energy you feel when you take part is unbelieveable.
Thursday and the English exam were pretty OK. NOthing amazing, but I got through it in time. Mr van signed my yearbook thing with a message that makes me smile to think about it. We rehearsed for the grad in the afternoon and I helped him pack everything up in his truck to take down to the church. I had to play chords by ear to Lean on Me. I'm not naturally competent in that type of playing, so he came to the piano and showed me a few things that would be useful. He has such an amazing ear, that man, lol.
The gr8 grad went by ok, no hitches, I talked to Alyson, Brad, Tish and Ampber during all the speeches and whatnot so it passed the time pretty quickly. I got home and studied for physics enough that I felt confident enough to teach it to Britt so she came over about 10:30ish and stayed til midnight.
I felt very prepared for the physics exam, which was a good thing because it is a gr12 course and will count next year, if I want it to, that is. I want to pull up the lousy 93 (on part of my lazyness over two units where I got test marks in the low 90's and my not handing in of that one assignment that could have saved my mark) to a healthy 94. If I got 95 on the exam, I'll get a 94. If I got >98 I'll get a 95. I can only hope :(
Anyways I should actually try to study now...
