there's no time to put off telling someone you love them

my grandmother will be taken out of the hospital today and my mom will take her home to die peacefully.

she has been on morphine drip since yesterday. hospice will come to my mom's house to make sure she gets her meds until she passes. in addition to having a tumor in between her esophagus and her heart half the size of a football, we found out that she has terminal lung cancer. they stopped dialysis because her kidneys have failed. the infection in her lungs and her body's inability to process potassium (in the nutrient drip they are giving her to stay alive) will become lethal in just a few short days. the doctor says she has 2 - 4 days left. i have never lost anyone close to me before.

i went to my father's house yesterday to get some old vinyl he said i could have and i found some old photo albums with some really great pics of granny, back in the day. less than a year ago she was up and around; cooking, cleaning, making dinner for us, playing with the grandkids, going shopping....

life is too short.
enjoy it to its fullest.
tell those around you that you love them.
daily. now. don't wait.
