i rarely get political, but this is something i feel strongly about. the following two statements are extremely discriminatory, especially taken together:
- "Marriage in the United States shall consist only of the union of a man and a woman."
- "Neither this Constitution or the constitution of any state, nor state or federal law, shall be construed to require that marital status or the legal incidents thereof be conferred upon unmarried couples or groups."
they are also part of a proposed amendment that will never pass because it's ridiculous. just in case, though, there is a petition that you might have already seen.
