Sometimes our kitchen games are amazing and top-notch.

Not tonight:  I missed my opening seven, an easy one.  He played his out in two in the wrong order.  In response, I played a phony to go out.  He did not challenge.

In between, we played terribly.

I find it refreshing when really smart people play a loose game like this once in a while (and share the details). It makes it easier for me to remind myself that everyone makes errors, even players better than me.

Sometimes we're just so pissy about games like these. Last night was SO error-filled that we had to just laugh it off. There wasn't even any wine involved!

It's a good lesson for me. Sometimes it's not going to come together and there will be other games.

don't forget - for posterity - one of my out-in-two plays was a phony, as well. And I went overtime.

I felt as full of WIN as Charlie Sheen. :-)
