1. An ecotopia would ideally include infinite resources, no population problems, and everything living in perfect harmony. Mineral and other resources would probably be available to everyone at the right amounts, and people would learn how to conserve. Many of the environmental problems would not exist. This will not exist in the near future and probably never.
2. A wilderness should be as big as it needs to be to allow for all of the natural inhabitants to survive as they have since they have been there.
3. I agree with the environmentalists because the true state of wilderness is completely natural. Once humans interact, even in a good way, it offsets a chain of events that ultimately change that area as well as others forever. Wilderness and nature should be kept as close to the natural state as possible.
4. individual freedom can be controlled to protect the evironment and the majority. Certain individual freedoms should be checked so that the environment can stay intact. The balance between individual action and caring for the environment is why there will never be a perfect state. Where one picks up, the other suffers and visa versa.
5. The beach is necessary to maintain in the environment because it is so vital to the comunittee and wildlife. The beach protects the city as a whole from erosion and destruction as well as serves as an area for entertainment and commerce. There are so many animals and living things that live on the beach as well.
6. Trees and other non-human things should have some legal standing, or rather be protected legally. Laws, acts, and legislature should be passed to protect them. Even though many things make up the country, the ultimate reason why we have a place to live is because of our environment.
7. The only true way we can make sure that the environment is protected world wide is to make certain agreements, like the Montreal Protocol, that we trust people to uphold. Other than that, since there is no world wide jurisdiction no one can legally be bound to protecting the environment.
