happy thursday
hi people :D i've lost touch with lj but sometimes i think thats a good thing
tonight was our out to eat night at Jason's Deli. it was ridiculously packed and i table-hopped and sat with a couple of my students that were there. one of em bought me dinner which was super nice. i love talking to them outside of school... u look at them in a totally different light. afterwards, i spent some time at barnes and noble reading the new postsecret book, which, i still believe is brilliant
jon king came to visit us last weekend and we had quite the fun-filled weekend. hit up frankie's a lot and i have to apologize to matt, who i scoffed at initially for spending $5 on a dvd from a booth, because 82 views later on youtube, it's become quite the source of entertainment. i discovered jon and matt are crazier when they're sober than they are when they're drunk; sunday we went to chinese buffet dressed as white trash from salvation army, which wasn't all that embarassing cuz i think we fit in quite well. i went to my first gay bar on saturday night, legends, and felt like i was in the middle of a porno the whole time. needless to say, i was amused.
it's gettin' cold here and i'm depressed when i think about how i have to deal with being cold the next few months. call me a whimp, complainer, or whatever, i dont care, i want heat.
my class is building a giant pyramid out of canned food for our food drive and within a week we've collected over 125cans and our pyramid is still growing. we've actually built a second one next to it because the first one got too high. its hilarious. today a few cans fell over on one of the kids. he's ok though lol. i can't say i didnt see it coming, cuz i did. i know, i'm cruel lol.
matt's got leave this weekend and although its sad cuz i wont see him, i'm happy cuz we've got a 5 day weekend coming up next weekend and i'm headin' down to SC to see the in-laws and their new house in Beaufort for thanksgiving. that should be exciting; hopefully it's warmer down there with them :D
other than that, things are good in my world. happy the boy's home. thats all that really matters. and on that note, it's time to go to bed. night night
