CROP Walk
So I've decided to participate in West Chicago's CROP Walk on September 30th. Some of you may have gotten an email from me asking for support. What the CROP Walk supports is the worldwide programs of Church World Service. CWS meets emergency needs and helps with poverty-stricken areas. For example, $150 can buy 100 chicks and two wire chicken coops to provide 2 families with a source of eggs, protein & income. $500 provides small start-up loans that enable women to start their own business (i.e. sewing clothes). $1,000 can buy a pump for a village assuring a continuing source of water. I know that this organization helped a LOT with Hurricane Katrina.
