Wednesday, Jason picked me up from work and we went to a record store downtown because Matt Nathanson was having a free concert. Um, fuck yeah I think so. We scored a pretty decent view in the middle except this bitch in front of me was SO ANNOYING and I swear it was the closest I've ever come to physical assault. She was like 35-40, and kept obnoxiously stomping her heel into the wooden floor along with his music and it's like, dude, fucking chill. And she was dancing all over the place, she wouldn't fucking PLANT IT. I was trying to take pictures and I'd line up in a good spot and then she'd shift her weight in front of it and ruin it. And she was only an inch or two shorter than me so it was just a pain. And the poor kid she came with - I don't know if it was her kid or her brother or what, he seemed about 14 and she kept like, GRABBING him and shaking him and being like, "SING!". OMG poor kid, he was not about it at all, except he didn't even fight back, he just like, let her keep smacking his shoulders which makes me feel like this happens a lot. Jason thought she was just trying to be ~the cool mom~ and I thought she was just trying to get Matt's attention so she could play groupie later or something, she was THAT obnoxious. OMG AND SINGING, SHE WAS SINGING SO LOUD, and this isn't like a goddamn concert hall, IT IS A RECORD STORE. I DON'T NEED TO HEAR YOU. ALSO, STAND THE FUCK STILL. AND/OR DIE PLEASE.

But Matt was amazing live, his voice is even better in person. And he is SO GORGEOUS AND FUNNY. HNNGH. And you can tell he just genuinely loves it up there, he loves his job and THAT IS SO FUCKING ATTRACTIVE. It doesn't hurt that his FACE looks like THIS:

Also, how awesome is this:

Thursday, Molly and I went to a baseball game straight from work. We went downtown and parked in the ramp and then got lost FOREVER, walking around the city because we were trying to find ~Kieran's~. I said "Okay, fuck Kieran's, I will eat anywhere at this point" or some variation of that at least three times but Molly was so dead set on finding it. And I got so irritated, it probably wasn't even her fault but I was just trying to THINK, you know? Not even about inconsequential shit like restaurants, about BIGGER THINGS. Bigger things in life. Like if I'm really happy. Or if the city feels different. I was trying to remember what I used to feel like when I set foot in the city. Because today, I wasn't buzzed and excited and I needed to know why. Is it my job. Is it my relationship. Is it just the fact that it's hot out, what, what is it. Because whatever it is needs to be altered, you know? GOD. And she just KEPT talking, such redundant small talk filler. It's not even her fault, I just have no time to myself anymore so Liss!thought!time creeps into social time and inadvertently makes me pissed off at whoever I'm with just because they're there. It's so unfair and I know this.

Anyway, we finally found the bar and I felt a lot better being able to sit down. Even though it was crowded as fuck. We got ~chicken shots~ (which aren't literal alcohol shot, lol, they're actual chicken) and french fries and then I felt even MOAR BETTAR. And I got to vent a LOT and she was really helpful and I don't know, I have so much shit to think about. I'll write about it later.

My mom said she and Greg were coming to drop one of his friends off at the game and to come to some other bar down the road. IT WAS AGES AWAY, IT FELT. So I called her and was like, "OH MY GOD WILL YOU HELP ME", and it was SO TRAUMATIC, she was like, "I'm out on the sidewalk, I can't see you! Wiss, WISS! I'm waving, where are you?!!?" omg it was the cutest. THEN WE FINALLY SAW HER. There was a bike taxi on the road and after embarrassing the hell out of me by pointing down the road at us and asking him to give those pretty girls a free ride, my mom was like, "OKAY THEY ARE GOING TO COME IN FOR A DRINK, WAIT FOR THEM FOR 10 MINUTES AND THEN WILL YOU TAKE THEM TO THE GAME" lol. We didn't think he'd wait but he did and then drove us up the road to the game, it was so much fun. But oh my god he broke my heart, my mom asked about his family and he said he took this as a second job because his daughter is going to go to [local Catholic/private college]. I can't even imagine working all day, leaving the office, and then biking people around the city. I mean, I suppose it could be in lieu of going to the gym but still. It was sad.

We got to the game and it was so much fun, the weather was luckily perfect and we had killer seats! I love being in fandom-y environments, I know it's a sports team but it's the same, the spirit. We won and it was fun to watch. At one point, there was this tall guy standing RIGHT in front of our railing and a security officer made him move lol. I checked Facebook on my phone and saw that a kid I had one college class with in 2006 was at the game also, I commented and was like, "I'm here too!" and he told me to shoot him a text so I did. Will write about this later also. Long story short, he ended up coming to empty seats behind us for the last two innings, so we were talking and he was like, "I've been reading your blog!" and it like, slayed me, you know, because we weren't even good friends in college, it's all developed over the internet - he reads my blog and sets my photography as his desktop, and I always download the mixes he makes for his friends. So I don't know, it was cool to actually hang out with him after all of that.

Photos, of course!

I ENVY HIS LIFESTYLE.
