Friday, Jason and I went to the lake and I took about a million pictures of baby geese. HERE, HAVE SOME (and some of the glorious water in general):
We stayed there until it got dark, obviously. I saw that I had a missed call from my mom so I called her back and it turned out that she and her boyfriend Greg were at the lake bar just next door and couldn't get a table. We happened to have a table for four people so they just walked on over and it was such a cute and fun surprise! Then Jason and I stopped and got the best ice cream ever and just sat on a bench on the water and licked things.
Saturday, we went out with Jason's family for dinner and then he and I went to the downtown theater to see Tree of Life because literally no other theater here was playing it. I had really high expectations for this film, and sometimes it delivered and sometimes it didn't. I think my problem with it was that the mix was awkward. Sometimes it was too fanciful and metaphorical and others it was real and honest about the loss of innocence and how the world starts to change as you grow up. I wish they would have gone balls to the wall on either one of those themes but the fact that they split their attention made both sides fall flat. IDK. I think I need to see it again.
Sunday was a blast, every year they hold a block party fair thing in our capital city. Kiel asked me if I'd like to go, we all had so much fun last year. I met him and his sister at their house and then we all drove down together, Kiel was in charge of the music which of course consisted of Disney cartoon remixes lol. We stopped at Tim's house for drinks and yardgames, we got there about noon and Kiel made me a mimosa. They had STRONG-AS-ASS bloody marys, which I am not into to begin with but I tried some and it was one of the worse things to ever enter my mouth. So yes, I opted for a mimosa. We played a game where you throw metal rings into holes, idk, and then some bird completely SHIT on Jess' forehead, I was SO UPSET I DID NOT HAVE MY CAMERA OUT!! Coley told us tales of her boyfriend's crazy-ass sister, we watched videos of tiny black children doing the Bernie, pounded beers before we left and I personally had a shit ton of Fritos and took some to go. We had to walk a couple of blocks down to get there, it was warm and lovely! P.s., even Kiel, a normal person, does not even understand what the fuck House was about. BECAUSE OBVIOUSLY IT CAME UP.
So we just walked around and ate and drank, I am super pissed because my camera died pretty fucking early and I HAVE NO IDEA WHERE MY THIRD BATTERY IS. HOW DOES THAT EVEN HAPPEN. Someone probably STOLE it, they saw my camera bag and were like, "I BET THERE IS A BATTERY IN THERE JUST WAITING TO BE STOLEN" so they rifled past my camera body and lenses to get to the battery. Assholes. jk jk. Kiel bought a fancy cigar so I got a couple of photos of that before it died AND I LOVE THEM:
that's her boyfriend in the lens reflection. sdkfljha.
Kiel started getting fresh with me before we got wristbands and went to drink in some bar's parking lot party. MY HEAD IS SUNBURNED SO BAD. But it was fun, we ran into their gay uncle who was spilling drinks everywhere and lolol. I got cheese curds and they were amazing. Then I lost everyone for awhile and I didn't really care, tbh. It was fun to have Liss time in the middle of so many people. I found them again and then I really thought I was going to literally pass out, I AM V SUSCEPTIBLE TO HEAT STROKE, OKAY. When I was in grade 7 my dad had to come pick me up in fucking Wisconsin. Anyway so I'm really going to die BUT THEN THEY ARE PLAYING SOME MODERN DANCE VERSION OF WHAT A FEELING. IN THE BAR. IT WAS SO AWESOME.
Monday I went to trivia with a middle school friend Emily and her two guy friends. We had a lot of fun even though we didn't win shit. ALSO, lmao highlight - Matt reached over to get something and didn't see that the waitress was coming up with his beer so when he pulled back, he elbowed the glass and been sprayed fucking EVERYWHERE and the glass broke and it was a goddamn commotion but I just couldn't stop dying.
Tuesday, I had work obviously and then we ordered pizza and watched The Voice. Which I love, by the way. Christina Aguilera is starting to really fucking bug me but Adam Levine more than makes up for it. And should also probably father my children. I love Beverly and Dia!
Yesterday, my mom came over for dinner as usual and SYTYCD was on and slkjdhfkhlas you guys I think I am going to try out for a local competitive adult jazz team at the end of the month. LIKE I FEEL LIKE I'M GOING TO GET CONVENIENTLY LAZY ON THAT DAY BUT I MISS DANCE SO MUCH. I am so out of shape so it will suck but I watch that show and want to cry all the time :( :( :( That fire, you know? I still have it but it doesn't get to come out as much anymore. IDK. My mom stayed the night and she was so adorable, she begged me to have a "slumber party" with her klshdfjklha. ♥ I tried but it was too hot in her room and I was just all stressed out but SHE WAS SO PRECIOUS.
