You guys. Okay so I brought two of my white roses to work because I wanted to be able to enjoy them instead of just working all day every day until they were dead and alone at my house. So they've been there and today, since I don't work Fridays, I took them with me when I left the office because they'd be dead over the weekend anyway. So I took them with the mindset of just being able to leave them in unexpected (but still high-traffic) places for people to pass by or perhaps even pick up and keep. I was going straight to the mall, and then out to dinner, so I knew I'd find places.
On the road to the mall, there was a guy walking along the median. I thought he was just chillin', he had an acoustic guitar on his shoulder and long hair, I noticed he was carrying something but I couldn't see what. When I got closer, I saw that it was a sign that said "I Love You" and he was just smiling and flashing it at passing traffic. It's a fairly busy road, I was gone too fast to react but I almost started crying and I was just so happy. I sat at a light, fully intending to just let it be, but then I was like, no, and whipped a u-turn. I was so worried that he would just have kept walking and been gone by the time I got back.
But he wasn't. Coming back the other way, his back was to me but I slowed down, yelled "Here you go!" and tossed the flower out the window. He yelled "I LOVE YOU!" right when I started speaking, and when he recognized what I'd thrown at him, I heard him go, "AH!!" It sounded like a huge smile. I looked in my side mirror and saw him holding the rose up in the air at me. I could have cried, seriously, it was so perfect and so happy and so completely why we are all here.
I had to turn back around a ways down to actually go to the mall and when I approached his love post, the light turned red so I rolled my window down. "I want to take a picture, this made my day!!" I yelled out my window. "I LOVE YOU!!" he yelled back. "I LOVE YOU TOO!!!1" He smiled and laughed while my phone was having a fit and then when I got the shot, the light turned green and I thanked him. "Have a nice day!" he yelled as I began to drive again. "You too! ♥!" God if I would have had my actual camera on me at the time, I would have parked close by and done a whole series on him.
