brb, whining

USA is having a mini-House marathon, I came in the middle of Cursed and it stunned me how much better the show was back then. Not like that's a new thought, but this is the first time I've watched an old episode since like... I don't even know. Anyway ( Read more... )

I've been re-watching my season 2 and 3 dvds and I couldn't help but notice the same things. Cuddy used to be the badass HBIC. Now, she's more of like the hesitant hbic because she has to deal with so many other things besides her job (Rachel to name one).

I was re-watching the episode "Forever" the other day and I honestly saw more love and respect from House towards Cuddy than I did when they were in a relationship. It was so weird. The part where he finds out about the high levels of estrogen and figures out she's trying to get pregnant. That whole scene. It was so perfect. I miss the older episodes. I'm not saying I don't like the H/C relationship, but I'm not sure if I ever wanted it to be canon. The dynamics of the show completely changed. Idk. It's just to hard to put it in words. I just really miss the old bantering!

You know, that's a really important point - something that's been bugging me that I didn't even realise. House's jerkitude used to have a *point*, even if just to show up the people claiming to be 'good' for what they really are. Also, there was a kind of perverse joy to his crueler traits, and of late it seems like a cranky toddler acting out more than coming from any legit place of pain.

Also, I was thinking - the writers are now saying that DRUGS make House who he is, whereas before it was always his pain. He's capable of living with the pain, of including people in his life when he has it, so now we're supposed to forget all those gorgeous moments of ~feeling~ his pain and just put everything 'fun' about him down to Vicodin.

I remember arguing with someone back when I started watching and they said 'what's the point of a show where the character doesn't care?' and I argued, he doesn't want to care, which is something quite different. Often, in spite of himself, we saw him care just a little bit with some of the patients ( ... )

I understand what you say but people don't change, we know more about them: I recognize Cuddy then and now, she is the same person but we watched her 25 seconds in the entire episode. Now we have 5 to 9 and for me is the same Cuddy and I think the same about House.

Anyway, I miss my old huddy, they are sooooo cute together but I've missed the scenes we are gonna watch in 7x17, scenes that make me feel butterflies in my stomach when they are face to face in the hall or in the office cause I think all their love or ppth scenes are the same over and over in the last episodes.

About the team and Wilson I love them then, now and forever, except Boreman LOL

I love this show, I love huddy together and separated cause I know they'll love and need each other the rest of their lives and this is enough for me ;)

(sorry for my english ;))

This makes me so sad to read this. Sad because it is true. Could not agree more with EVERYTHING in this post.

God, I miss those days. I can still go through seasons 1 to 3 and pretty much name or explain in depth what happens with the Potw in the majority of episodes. Now? I could barely tell you what happened last week. All the patients are so bland... even to the point of the colours on screen, It used to be so bright. Now it seems kind of grey and dull.

i feel ya girl. I completely agree with this post. I want to marry it and have hot sex with it. I mean seriously, back then I could actually say that the show has some brilliant writing and now all I see are random lines here and there, only ghosts of what the show used to be..
