UGH I am so behind on my life but let's start with this.

I shot a ballet on Thursday and oh my god. It was among the happiest and most fulfilled I've ever been. I had the most amazing time. And the director was so nice, and the ballet itself was SO much fun, they had a number to Paparazzi where they had bags over their heads, water wings, and

I haven't, actually. I took a photography class in high school but that's about it. It's strange because i didn't really go out looking for photography - it sort of found me? I was at a dance competition just as a spectator and one of the girls on my old team came up into the bleachers and was like, "Liss, do you want to take pictures? My mom doesn't know how to work our new camera!" So I took it and then she just sort of kept bringing it to me whenever I was there. They asked me back next season as their photographer, started asking me to come backstage and things. I got my own camera when I got on the movie, the director saw my photos on facebook and asked if I'd want to do on-set stills for him. And then I met a bunch of people there who keep asking me to do stuff so yeah, it was just one thing leads to another, I guess. ♥

tl;dr - you don't HAVE to study it in order to do it. I'm sure it doesn't hurt, but it's not the end all be all. I'd recommend taking a basic class, just to get familiar with a few ideas, but a lot of it comes from your heart, I think. ♥

SAVE FOR A GOOD ONE. THEY ARE EXPENSIVE BUT SO, SO WORTH IT.
