This is a photo I've wanted to take all my life.
♥
I'm a new person.
For the 4th, my sister and I went to Lindsey's and then to my dad's family function on the lake, I love it, this is one of my favorite holidays. AND THEY HAVE AMAZING FRENCH FRIES THERE, I LOOK FORWARD TO IT EVERY YEAR. Oh man, and okay, my dad's cousin's wife, Tracy. She's a professional photographer and this is the first time I've seen her since we've been friends on facebook and I LOVE facebook because it makes people aware of my life and my love of certain things. I was up on the deck and I caught her eye, smiled, and went to keep talking to the people I was with, but she waved me over to her. I get there and she's like, "So, ah! You got a D90!!" (again, Facebook. Win) AND THEN WE JUST GEEKED OVER CAMERAS FOR PRETTY MUCH THE REST OF THE TIME I WAS THERE. IT WAS SO MUCH FUN. She told me my stuff looked great and that meant a lot because her shit is amazing. "I had no idea you were like that. I mean, you KNOW but it's also like, 'wow, that's one creative little girl'." And she kept saying stuff like that, and we talked about Photoshop and how I layer things and she loves it. My dad's cousin Angie is also into photography, although not professionally, she just has the equipment and loves to take pictures of her little girls. So she came over too and we had our cameras out and she put her macro lens on mine and let me play with it and kdjshfajhkl.
That's Tracy with the camera. And Angie is in the left corner.
And also I loved it because I felt like I could freely take pictures of them and their kids because they get it, you know? Normally I feel like a TOTAL CREEP just taking pictures of people without them specifically asking/paying me to, but this was freeing. Tracy said something about how we all need to get together and look at all of her stuff, play with her big lights and go up to the cabin in the winter to shoot and I REALLY HOPE WE DO THAT.
Another photo that's become part of my cemented personal existence:
I went back to Lindsey's for fireworks, we went out on her boat and it was hard to get good shots because, lol, we were rocking on the water, but I got a couple that are usable. I wish I knew my camera better so I could have adjusted it in the dark, it was hard.
After that, we went and sat on the front lawn JUST to watch the clusterfuck of people try to leave the city lol. PRIME ENTERTAINMENT, sitting on the edge of the street with our drinks and Ritz crackers, I died laughing for no reason at all, they were concerned I wasn't going to make it. If anyone looked at us funny, we'd just yell, "AMURRRICA!" I was hungover this morning, ugh. I wasn't even THAT drunk, I just had BEEN drunk for about 10 hours and mixed a bunch of different types of drinks and I think that was the issue. BUT FUCK YEAH WHAT A GREAT HOLIDAY.
