tapdancing on the highwire

There's nothing like a trip to an antique store to restore your sense of... youth. I don't know. But it's awesome - you guys need to go. It just kind of reminds you just how much happened before you. Like, there were PEOPLE that lived before you, and had all these things. And then, there was this one picture of this woman on the wall, and it was so simple - it was a close-up of her face and she was looking down and to the right and just looking at her... idk. I'm sure she's dead now and I'm sure she had secrets and went through things that nobody will EVER know about. She lived, she loved, she cried, she laughed, she knew things that we don't. It just fascinates the hell out of me. And it makes me feel like I used to when I was young. I can't explain it much.

LOL IT WAS SO IRONIC. I was the only one who DIDN'T want to go in and I'm the only one that bought anything. And not just one thing, two. My mom went to get a mammogram (she's totally fine btw), so we went with her and I was glad I went because they had about 500 magazines with Harry Potter covers that I just completely immersed mysef in. I CAN'T DEAL, YOU GUYS. I plan on staying up all night and going to bed at like noon or 1pm tomorrow so I can sleep until 10 that night and then go get the book at midnight and then not have to sleep until 2pm the next day. (I calculated it - I normally stay awake for 16 hours before I start to get tired. But if it's HP, I can probably push it. My record is 37 hours with no sleep.) BUT YES. Then we went out for lunch and then we were just walking around this cute little town and found an antique shop. We went in, and I left with this gorgeous little dancer statue and my first piece of real art. I saw it on the floor in a little hallway, leaning against the wall, and I almost didn't see it. But I saw it and it's one of those, where I just completely gasped in public. It is GORGEOUS. And the colors. And the subject. Just everything. It's so ME. And $100 later, it's mine. I was rly hesitant about it, but the second I said, "Yes, I want it. For sure." I got REALLY excited so I know I did the right thing.

HERE, I took it at an angle because the light from the window was causing a glare:

AND OMG YOU GUYS. HOW PRETTY IS SHE?!
SHE'S PAINTED ON GLASS. THAT'S A WINDOW THAT SHE'S ON RIGHT THERE.

I cannot even wait to have my own house. You have no idea.

YAY I get to babysit in a half hour and I'm actually really excited because I love these kids. They're 4 year old twins and I've been there their whole life and they are so. cute. So... I will talk to you later. And for the record? I'm still bitter about the Emmys.

harry potter, family - mom, picture, rl - babysitting, liss makes an amazing purchase
