Thursday was BASICALLY the most perfect day, you guys -
foxestacado and I were going to go to yoga, but we got there like an hour early. So we just walked around, and found ourselves at a fancy cupcake shop, where we got six mini cupcakes and each chose three from their MULTITUDE OF HEAVENLY FLAVORS. I got red velvet, cookie dough, and s'more cupcakes! The most aesthetically pleasing and also delicious cupcakes in all of time ever. The guy working was SO fun and friendly too, he saw us with our yoga mats and was like, "Is this before or after yoga?" We said before and he was like, "I'm sorry, I can't sell these to you." lol. "No I'm serious, you have to come back after class." lol akljhdfa. We got drinks at Starbucks and then sat outside and checked our internetz.
Then we went to yoga and it was awesome, I haven't done yoga in aaaaages. And the teacher was so nice and helpful, she asked my name, remembered it, and continued to give me corrections which I always appreciate. I am SOAR. Even today lol. We had planned on going for burgers after class but neither of us were hungry. We struggled for something to do but then she got the idea to go get massages. SO WE GOT MASSAGES. We got this 70 minute acupressure/reflexology business, but there was also a scalp massage AND BUTT MASSAGE WHICH IS MY FAVORITE IN ALL OF EVER, and they also did cool stretchy things!! There was a foot soak and foot massage and they basically massaged all the things. Such a worthy investment.
We found a burger bar a few blocks away, and we loved everything about that place! The atmosphere, the food, the lighting, the music. We had a talk about how LJ has been more or less abandoned and check us out, having open conversations about LJ with real people in public.
Yesterday, I went for an early dinner with my friend Ana - she's an actress/musician from Minnesota who I met at a New Year's party through mutual friends. She just moved out here and she lives seriously a mile away from me! So we went to Santa Monica, walked for a bit and ended up at a bar that had a bitchin' Happy Hour, omg we got so much - pizza, french fries, shrimp cocktail, bacon rolls, and some artichoke shit. AND OMG THERE WAS THIS OLD WOMAN THERE, SERIOUSLY, 86 YEARS OLD, drinking a fucking lemon drop martini like a BOSS. Her son was sitting next to me and we were kind of talking and I told him that she was fucking cool and he told me that she dyed her hair green for St. Patrick's Day!! And then she lifted off her tiny knitted cap to SHOW ME!! OMG it made my life, you guys.
It was really fun, Ana is SO much fun and so lovely to talk to - we never shut up basically the entire time. She is so personable and honest, and I'm happy we could get along so well after only ever meeting once. And she was like, "I love your
blog - that day you wrote about airports, I was reading it and I was like, 'my god she speaks the truth and totally gets me'." And that was awesome even though I never update that fucker - I NEED TO, I REALLY NEED TO. But like, how cute that she read it and brought it up.
And then she asked if I'd ever want to exhibit my photos and I was like duh, yeah, and she's a painter so she asked about doing an exhibit together and it was SUCH a fun conversation! And THEN we went shopping and she bought a red skirt and I bought red pants with white shirts because we needed matchy ART GALLERY OUTFITS, OMG HOW CUTE ARE WE. She was talking about how it's so hard to make friends out here and how glad she was that I'm here and it kills me because we like, actually get along and think similarly about a lot of things.
Lindsey texted saying Brit's friend was house sitting a mansion in Silver Lake or something and asked if I wanted to go but I was having too much fun shopping. When I got back, Florence + the Machine was BLASTING through our house and she was in the shower. She decided she didn't want to go to the party either, so we watched Sex & The City and made a bong out of an apple (because we are in 5th grade) so we could smoke the weed that Tony left here in an old film canister lol. Then we watched Drop Dead Gorgeous, you betcha!

We are no longer shooting this weekend (lol, obv). We are shooting next weekend, when I will be back home again. So I'm pretty pissed about that because being on set is one of the only reasons I continue to do this right now. I am so excited to go home though!
