tv and movies~

No, I did not watch House. I'm still really upset by how things were handled both on and off screen. Is it possible to both be pissed and apathetic at the same time? Because I somehow am, even though it's a contradiction. Hopefully you understand what I mean. I know some people are watching just to stick it out or because they still love Hugh, which is fine, whatever, but I kind of respect my energy and my passions way too much to go back to them after they've been completely dragged through the dirt. Like, I value my time and am not going to waste it on huge and horrible letdowns. I can't even watch reruns yet because all of the potential is gone, I know it never amounts to anything even approaching its potential. They laid a beautiful framework, and then happily traded it in for gratuitous film-remakes and shitty green screen. I just think of how much money they spent on season 7 just for it to come out that atrocious. Over it. I hope it completely tanks as I have zero respect, zero tolerance, and zero reason to even pretend to be supportive or even diplomatic about it anymore. And it's not even because House and Cuddy aren't ~together~, it's because absolutely everything, ship-related or not, was thrown out the window. End.

American Horror Story on the other hand, WAS AWESOME. I assume it'd be pretty hard to have a horror series going, and not know how many seasons you'll get to tell your story, so I hope it's able to sustain for awhile. Commercials are also hard to deal with in a genre that relies on suspense and attention, but I'm sure it will be fine. But it is wicked and sexy and well-done. She says after the pilot, lol. DEFINITELY NEVER MISSING THIS, THOUGH.

X-Factor - omg Sad!Paula, do you guys even know how much I love Sad!Paula?! Not because she's crying, but because she's just so beautiful and she feels so much for these kids. Or in this case, this fully grown man called Dexter. But still, omg ♥ ♥ ♥ She is so precious, you guys. I want to keep her in my pocket and hug her always. Also her tiny dresses and sparkly shoes, omg she is a fucking doll. That being said, I really dig Rachel Crow and that REALLY FUCKING HOT GUY (I don't know his name - JUST THAT HE IS GORGEOUS). There are a few others but those guys are the first ones I think of. Oh oh, the 59 year old who looks like he's 40, I love him too. Burrito!maker, I DID like, but then got really sick of him flaunting the fact that he makes burritos, so. No moar.

Movies I watched yesterday:
→ Horrible Bosses, lol I liked it. No real in-depth analysis, it was a nice easy film to watch on a Saturday afternoon.

→ Drive, amazing. Still thinking about it and not sure how I feel about it but REGARDLESS, it was beautifully shot, edited, colored, scored/soundtracked, everything. It is a stunning piece of filmmaking. I had issues with the credits (fuchsia Mistral, really?) but was able to overlook them. Ryan Gosling and Carey Mulligan were great and I was a HUGE FAN of the pacing, and how they used slow, tense eye contact to set up the last moment. Also there is a STUNNING FUCKING SCENE in an elevator, which you may have seen in the trailer, but damn. I had trouble following the actual film, who was who, who owed who money, etc, I never understand ~mob~ or ~money~ movies very well because I don't follow the politics easily lol. So it probably needs a rewatch.

→ Dream House, it wasn't HORRENDOUS, I guess, but I'm glad we movie-hopped into it instead of going for the express purpose of seeing this film. Totally predictable and like a really shitty remake of Shutter Island. I enjoy looking at Rachel Weisz and the children were ADORABLE, esp the bb one, but the movie was totes blah. I felt nothing. Plus the entire theater was full of high schoolers who talked the entire time and sat on their spoiled little fucking iPhones. Like, why even GO to the movies if you're not going to watch them? To feel "cool" and "grown up"? omg theaters are too expensive for that shit. Although, like I said, they probably don't even care because their parents are paying for it anyway. I can't remember the last time I've been to a theater and not had it ruined by people talking. Whisper, fine, but these people are TALKING LIKE NORMAL. I was never that obnoxious in a theater, even IN school.

tv - x-factor, movies, star - paula abdul, tv - american horror, people are annoying in public, tv - house
