Temperature Extremes to the Max

Got back from the beautiful today at 8:45 am.

First - Getting to Claremont. Simple and giving.
I check in. Not even one bag to check! Woohoo for one piece of small luggage. That was a sweet experience for someone who's always travelled quite heavily. How awesome. The plane down was uncrowded and chill. I had a window seat (yay for window) and there wasn't even a person sitting next to me. So I had some extra space. Caught a cab from ontario airport. And actually rode with this really sweet couple. They lived right across the street from teh claremont colleges so they just let the cab driver drop me off first. Then they insisted to pay for the whole thing. They were so cool.

Once at HMudd, I crashed in greg's room for awhile. Waited and waited for him to get back from class. Took forever.. but he finally showed up and we had a happy reunion (like always).

I went to clases with him on Thursday, played pool and magic, and basically hung out. Friday was the Scripps admitted students day. Quite boring actually bc I knew a lot of information about the college already. I think it was pretty much for the students that were still on the fence about where to go to school. But I met some cool people and saw a couple faces that I knew before (i.e. U prep grads like Karina, Shauna, and Hannah and my tour guides: hannah, ashley). I'm really excited that I know some upperclassmen already. It makes me feel a bit more welcome already. I can't wait to get the big binder full of everything I need to know for getting to college in june. So the best part of the scripps day was the tea. It was held in the margaret fowler garden. It was the prettiest place on campus by far. I was just so shocked. wisteria, columns, arches, roses, statue, benches..o god. I wish I had had my camera. I'll be doing hw there next year. Then greg met me there with all our swim stuff. We headed to the scripps pool. also very awesome. It wasnt even that busy there. We swam for awhile and then dried off in the sun and read. So peaceful. The next couple days we watched movies (Thirteen and Without a Paddle). I beat him at pool (like.. 2 out of 6 times). The weather was freaking beautiful. 70's and even 86 yesterday.

So this morning - I get up at 4 am. I shower and make sure everything is packed. Leave to catch my cab a little ways from the dorm. Cab doesnt freaking come. I scheduled them to come at 4:30am yesterday. They didn't have a cab matched up. Stupid! So they tell me they're going to try to get a cab to come but they aren't sure. "call back in 5 min." Dammit. I wait and call. "All circuits are currently busy. Try again later." Over and over. Anyways - after waiting an ther half hour they finally get a cab to me. I get to the airport. Tons of people are there. I check in with no problems (again very thankful that I didnt have to check any baggage). Get on teh plane - which is freezing, and curl up in an unhappy, cranky ball.

I'm home and tired now. I also need to write a closing for MT. O right - also found out that cory isnt going to be there today so I changed my tix home for nothing. So much for a run through. Fuck.

Its cold at home (duh). and rainy (no surprise there either).

I miss greg already. Only a month!

HELP: All mp3 player nerds. What's best?
what do you have to say about the ipod mini? (ive heard ipods just sort of die after a short period of time).

What about this? (The Rio Carbon)

Any suggestions? Guidance? I'm looking for a small mp3 player with 4-5 GB (or enough room to store lots of music). Easy to use. Needs to be portable enough so i can exercise with it (preferably with an armband sort of thing). No more than $200. ( i mean, I'll be getting a laptop around teh same time).
