It was Jack who was in a tight spot right now, but Daniel was in no hurry to help.
“Daniel, this isn’t funny!”
“No,” Daniel replied, remaining nonchalant, “it’s not.”
Jack glared at him through the bars of his cell. “Then why aren’t you helping?” he demanded.
Daniel shrugged. “Did you help me the last time I got into trouble?”
There was a moment of awkward silence.
“That’s not the point,” said Jack at last.
“Yes,” said Daniel, hiding a grin, “it is.”
Jack made a face at him, and Daniel couldn’t keep his grin hidden anymore. Payback was sweet.
