The mountains, unimpressed, ignored the display, stubbornly brooding over their secrets, while on their inhospitable slopes, lanky firs, crowded together for safety, stretched their scruffy necks to watch.
What a beautiful bit of wordsmithing - actually it all is, but the above and this unruly, puffy clouds which strained to escape its hold.
Well, something did happen today that convinced I'm not quite as bad at writing as I sometimes think:
I put 'Passing' up for review on HASA last week - and it passed !! Since I sent it I've been feeling slightly queasy everytime I thought of it and was convinced it'd be rejected.
So I'm incredibly happy right now; my first 'posted' story - and it got the star! I feel like shouting it from the rooftops. :-))
How's your ear today? Those new antibiotics doing their job?

Oh well done, honey! That's superb! You needed that boost, because you need some-one * official * to tell you you are good. :) HUGS!!
I think the ear is a little better, thanks, it's a weeks course, so by then it should be cleared.
You are so right about my needing the 'official' opinion.
Lol, I hope it helps with people telling you you are good, but I also know having it accepted in that way, and stamped with approved must be like passing an exam or being accepted for publishing.
'like passing an exam', yes, that's a very good description. :-)
So, now I've finished writing to all the reviewers to say thank you.
I've walked the dog (= exercise and fresh air). Also done a bit of cleaning and washing. All that remains to do tonight is some stuff I promised to do for dad's wife-to-be; and I need to do it now! Better get it over with, then I'll have a clear conscience.

Superb!
( And a lovely get-well drabble :) )
Thank you.

Well, I hope it at least made you think of something else than your poor ear for a moment.

You are so right about my needing the 'official' opinion. Think you begin to know me quite well ... :-)
I hope that stubborn ear of yours really is improving; by tomorrow, you ought to begin to feel a bit better, IIRC.
