Interestingly enough, I was at the reading where this British writer, who was denied entry to the US on the grounds of moral turpitude after arriving at the Newark airport rather flamboyantly clad and then being subjected to a five hour background search, was supposed to read from his new book. Someone else read from it for him, and I have to say I'm incredibly sorry that I was unable to meet him; the guy's a sensitive, shocking, thought-provoking writer.
