On the road to recovery

I have had my surgery.  I have not yet passed gas, so I am not yet allowed to have solid foods.  But I feel distinctly like I am on the mend.  I am still at the hospital, enjoying their partial internet connection (that won't allow me to see facebook, unfortunately).  The nurses have been great thus far.  Despite a slight weird spot when I was incredibly drowsy and low in oxygen, I am doing good.  It turned out that I was getting a dose of morphine that was a bit too high, and that, combined with my lack of walking around, may have suppressed my oxygen level a bit.  My stomach hurts, but not so much that I can't walk around.  I am looking very much forward to losing some of the machinery that I have to drag around.  I have taken five walks now, and I will walk more tomorrow.

I think I'm going to be okay, and back at home by the weekend.  Hooray for that.
