Survivor
Last night, I totally forgot to record Survivor while we were out (I did manage to download the files overnight). It was the finale, so I'm kicking myself about it, because now I have to avoid any news articles declaring the winner for the whole day -- not to mention accidentally hearing it in a conversation within earshot -- in order to still be surprised when I watch it this evening.
I'm halfway through the day...maybe I can make it...
However, I have not made it through the day without hearing about my city's latest murder -- a drive-by shooting, of all things, and on Pembina Highway (not a street where I'd expect gunfire). I don't know what the heck is going on in Winnipeg, but gun murders are on a steep rise this year, I think. In the past couple of months, there have been at least 5 murders that I can think of off the top of my head that were perpetrated with a pistol. These kinds of murders never used to happen here. It's kind of scary...not to mention sad. What happened to Canada being the place where guns were controlled sufficiently to keep us from having a shooting in Winnipeg every other week?
