Virus that PC Doctor can't find/get rid of = bad.
Virus that wipes restore points so I can't 'go back in time' and avoid the issue = worse.
Virus that causes PC to freeze almost instantly upon logging in so computer can only be started in safe mode (where, BTW, one can not install any new software that might, say, get rid of the virus) = terrible.
After trying to work around this for the last week, I finally conceded defeat. I re-installed my entire OS. Yes, that does mean that all my installed programs/games are now gone. Yes, I will have to spend who knows how long trying to find my discs and such so everything can be reinstalled.
