Random passing thought
Been thinking about high school more lately; in part this is zipper's fault (through her talks of high school reunions, and through being married to the guy who was, 23 years ago, my best friend for a couple years), in part it's uriel1001's fault, because we've been talking about high school experiences.
Anyway -
I read a lot of scifi and fantasy in high school - still do, of course - and a lot of the book covers, especially the olders (pre-1990) books, are pretty racy. My mother used to worry about me taking them to school - sort of "you shouldn't let people see you reading those books, honey."
What was she worried about? They might make fun of me?
Hell, if they thought I was a lesbian, maybe it would have been easier on me!
