Today has actually been good so far. The computer made really scary noises when I tried to check my e-mail this morning. But we restarted it and it hadn't ate anyone's files, so that was good. I haven't actually done any work today - I'll have to kick myself tonight and do some. But I got the first draft of my poli sci paper done last night, so that only leaves the corrections for that and the additions I need to make to my gender paper. And then writing my anthro paper and figuring out what I am doing for the presentation. And maybe studying for the grammar quiz. I don't think I am getting credit for that class on my transcript anyway, it was just to help me with spanish. Whatever. So I am not too stressed, especially when compared to other people. My poor friend Marissa lost her poli sci paper and all her notes on her independent study when she tried to reformat her disk. But I managed to cheer her up a little with sugar cookies, half my Butterfinger, and e-mails where we bitch about the other people in the computer lab that we hate.
Oooh, so the news from Monday. Good news: The Austrians left. So I have the cute doctor all to myself, not that I am ever around because I am too busy fighting for computer time at the school. Bad news: Marcos also left, so no more flirting with him. He gave me his purse. It's not too flamboyant - rather simple and pretty, actually. So I gave him the black pendant necklace I wear all the time. Am amused that we have similar tastes in jewelry.
Went to the llano this morning (the park near my house). There was a fair going on because tomorrow is la Virgen de Guadelupe festival, and her church is right next to the llano. Lots of adorable little kids dressed up in traditional clothing, with little painted mustaches on the boys and everything. Too cute for words. My friend Stephanie and I look at CDs for awhile, and just kind of wandered around all the stands. Nice break from the school. I am going to miss all the parties and things that are constantly going on in Oaxaca.
Not much else to say, except that we are going to see the first L0TR movie tonight at the free theater. Mary has never seen it before, but I am sure she will love it. We are going with Penis-Head Joe and some of the other boys we met on Friday night, so it should be interesting.
