Yeah, need a cute kitteh icon for that.
The strawberry plants I put in that I got at the farmers market at the beginning of April have little berries growing! There will probably be about 10 berries on them. I hope the plants survive the winter; it will be nice to have them next year. Plus both cherry trees look like they'll have good crops, and one of the plums. The other 3 plums don't have any fruit, but that's ok, they're still young.
Now... I have a bunch of plants that need homes.
Chocolate mint. Mine is running rampant. Anybody want some?
Echinacea. Not sure what type. I have some purple and some silver and some pinkish. This was the first year they've ever grown from seed, so I'm thinking they cross bred. The seeds are sprouting in my yard and I really don't want to mow them. Can anyone give these plantlets a good home?
Catnip. It spread. I have an extra plant that's growing where I don't want it. Anyone?
Lemon balm. It spread outside the garden and is going to get mowed unless someone wants to rescue it.
Finally- there is a ginkgo tree that I need to get rid of. It is tiny, but it is growing under my large cherry tree, so it needs to go. I don't have space in my yard for another tree. The look to get 30ish feet tall (judging by the one I have) and aren't terribly branchy (unlike the goddamn sycamores). Ginkgos are awesome and all sorts of prehistoric and stuff- not that this particular tree has been around that long, but the species has stayed relatively the same for millions of years. I have no idea how this thing reproduced. Usually you have to have a male tree and female tree, and I only have one, and I think it's male because it doesn't produce fruits. Please- someone - take this mystery baby tree. It will be a beautiful shade tree someday.
I also have herbs that I will pick and give to anyone interested: oregano, sage, catnip, chocolate mint, thyme, lemon balm.
