London

Having a lovely time. Been walking a ton (7-8 miles yesterday, probably 3-4 today) but I've seen most of the major sights (Big Ben, the London Eye, Trafagar Square, etc.) My thighs are rather sore though. That doesn't even include the 200 stairs I climbed when I arrived at the Russel Square station-the lifts were delayed.

I went to the British Museum yesterday and the National Gallery today. Oh, I also went to Gower Street and took a photo of Speedy's Cafe/221B from Sherlock.

Since I'm bad at prompting myself to go out at night, I've bought theatre tickets to entice me out. Tomorrow morning though, at 10, I have tickets to see James Bond Skyfall at the Odeon Theatre. It's London's big premier movie theatre. The tickets were rather spendy for a movie (16 pounds-about $25), but I am on holiday. I saw Casino Royale in Paris with Cassie when it first came out so I have a precedent set for seeing James Bond while abroad.

Later tomorrow afternoon I'm seeing the play Twelfth Night with Stephen Fry as Malvolio. Then on Monday I have tickets to see Our Boys which has Arthur Darvill (Rory on Doctor Who) and Matthew Lewis (Neville on Harry Potter) in it. Monday is also the 5th so there should be lots of fireworks about (Guy Fawkes Day--like in the movie V For Vendetta-also starring Rupert Graves).

Tuesday night is the monthly candlelight opening at the Soane Museum. No plans for Wednesday yet, Thursday night is the play 55 Days with Mark Gatiss. Nothing yet scheduled for Fri or Sat. Sunday is meeting the Sherlock Cast (minus Benedict Cumberbatch). Monday I take the train to Paris.

I really like London although it is feels more touristy even than Paris. I like big cities in general though, I think I'm a city girl at heart. Someday I will figure out how to make it so.
