Wooooooooooooooooooooow!! That's the air flight from *hell*, jayzus. And lost luggage? THE WORST. When Cat was in the Army waaay back in the late eighties, and in Korea, I visited, and they lost my luggage, too. Shopping in Seoul wasn't awful but, yeah - i preferred my own things. Glad they got your stuff to you fairly quickly!
What amazing views - just...wow. I love the rocks, i love how sparse the ruins look, all cheek-by-jowl with the actual, modern city - these strange little eddies in time, a couple thousand years brought forward.....
The horse sculpture! Amazing. :D How sad they don't allow photos of ancient Greek booty. :D
Sounds like, after the Flight From Hell, you had a very nice time. Did you notice when you drove into Bosnia? Did they look at your passports?
I thought the tub looked just Lish-sized. ;) The sour cherry drink sounds delightful - i love cherry and i love sour.
yeah heh, it was pretty bad to fly for all that time & then have to stand in line for ANOTHER hour at the counter... not great. i'm both appreciative & not glad that you can empathize so well, heh.
cheek-by-jowl! that's a new one on me & it's perfect, haha. you should come with me sometime, just so my travelogues end up more colorful. :)
did you see they carved a hole in the bench for the horse's chin?!?!
it was a nice trip overall. bosnia is in part 3 - you'll just have to wait. <3
I flew to Maryland in September, for a work thing. The flight up was so bumpy, they wouldn't let the crew get up, and then just as we landed, i was so damn sick, i had to use the air-sick bag. YUCK. I so hate flying. Hate, hate, hate.
Cheek-by-jowl is an awesome saying. :D Enjoy! If you ever go somewhere all by....teleportation and on foot, i'm your girl! Heh. Or bicycle. I could do that.
I DID SEE THE HOLE! That was so cool.
Oh i see - I thought Bosnia was going to be part of the first couple day's excursions. All good! :D

ah! we learned we'd be stepping foot in bosnia early on, but the actual stepping wasn't for a bit. :)
