wow, that's beautiful. do the rainbows stay in the same place when he sheds? does he get along with vasuki well? do snakes have the alpha male thing?

the rainbows are iridescence IN his skin - like holographic nail polish. it changes with the light, but technically the iridophoroes causing the visual effect do stay in the same place.

he's still in quarantine after the convention - no contact with vasuki or sobek or anyone reptile for 60 days minimum. after that point, they'll probably both be out at the same time when i have friends over, but they're likely to treat each other as furniture. some snakes compete, but boas aren't known for caring too much about one another.

Also while my new cat is not exactly an amazing and rare snake mutation that puts his head in my mouth, he DID get my attention by being the only cat in the entire Big Shelter Extravaganza to hop up and boldly meow at me when I walked in. Hard to not want to take home an animal that is like YOU WILL CHOOSE ME
