Whoooooo! Awesome last couple of days - ancient stones, ancient mummies and then music and friends and hanging out. So very pretty. Glad you enjoyed the trip - seems like it was problem-free, which is nice.

How odd of the woman at the tattoo shop - is tipping not a thing in Ireland? For artists, i mean? Such a neat idea, getting 'memorial' tattoos.
Thanks for sharing!

thanks for reading along, carla! i'm glad you enjoyed my write-up. :)

when we asked about tipping at restaurants, we were told 10% is customary if you're really happy. so, i guess not? but she may just not have expected a tip because it "should've" cost much less than the shop minimum.

As always, I adore that memorial tattoo.

I hope Joe's ankle is doing better, btw.

Where is the first picture taken? That looks to me like a court tomb which is the oldest form of tomb in Ireland, about 6000 years old.

I must say aswell, I felt awful after playing that session and almost gave up playing the thing all together but looking at the video it wasn't as bad as it was in my head. though usually I'm better.....honest!

That really was a hell of a trip, though I keep forgetting our country is tiny

Oh and btw, the 8 string guitar is actually a bouzouki

Thank you for sharing. I love your travel entries so much as you go into terrific detail.

I do have to ask now though, do your dreads weigh as much as the rest of you, yet? They are really crazy long, and they can't be light with how thick your hair is. When I was a teenager my hair was so thick, and got so long, it caused headaches, but it grew from about 2 inches long to my waist in just over a year. (no idea how, it just went crazy.)
