The Grey Gown Pictures

Here are the pictures.  Apologies for the slouched position, as I was tired and had just eaten dinner.

And a couple of more detailed shots...

  Apologies for the flash

The beading on the sleeve (sideways - haven't figured out how LJ did that, because it's not rotated like this in my files).

So the specs for the Iron Dress Comp, should this had been completed in time:
All of the fabrics came from my stash.  The 4.5 yds of grey wool, 2.5 of yard sale patterned fabric (yes, it has poly in it- sigh), the gold silk used at the shoulders,  interlining cotton, white linen were all in my stash prior to the announcement of the competition.  The small gold cording used on the looped tabs was also already in my stash (being used for design work on a set of paned sleeves and matching forepart).  The thick gold braid was purchased, on sale for about $6 total.  The beads were purchased on sale for about $2 and I only used about 75 of the 800 or so beads in the package.  So total cost for the project was about $15, after you add in hooks & eyes and stiffener for the waistbands.  Total time for the project was 18 days, cut to clothes.  Pieces made were the forepart, underskirt, overskirt & bodice, sleeves, and hat.  Because of the time crunch to finish for 12th night,  machine stitching was used on all major seams.  All finishing stiches, trim, pleats, cords, etc, were done by hand.
