I think the people who put Prop 8 on the ballot will rue the day they ever thought to propose such a constitutional amendment. Had they just let it go, gay people would be quietly marrying in California with few people the wiser. It would not be a big deal and would probably only slowly spread to other states. But now, with Prop 8 passing, the fight is on and the movement is growing strongly and quickly across the nation. Now, instead of just a few states granting rights and marriage to gay people, the nation will face the question and just as with the civil rights movement, gays will win equal rights across the nation eventually. But, as with the civil rights movement, the fight will not be easy and won't be quick. It is clear though, the fight is on!!!!
