Ok, so I had the fortune of seeing John Stewart live at the University here in Buffalo tonight. And as he started joking about minorities and the things they go through (as only John Stewart can do and make it seem funny) I looked around and saw a sea of white people. There were at least 5000 or more people there and not one single black person. How is that possible???? I could understand it if I were back in Nevada City where there were few black families. But Buffalo is far from an all white city. In fact, I'm pretty sure the white people are the minority. And yet, no black people. I had a conversation recently with one of the black professors. She said she is literally afraid of going into the area I live in because of the history of violence towards black people. Is that it? Are black people afraid to come to these things?? Have I mention I live in the twilight zone??
Did I mention John Stewart was brilliant? Very funny? He did tell some of the same jokes he does on the Daily Show but they were still funny. He's very good. I highly recommend seeing him in person if you can.
