Day 01 - Your favorite song
This was a tough one to start with. My favourite song to sing at karaoke (Killing Moon) is not the same as my favourite song to rave to (No Good) which is not my favourite song to clean the house to (Theme From S-Express) which is not my favourite song to sing when driving down the motorway (Gloria). And "favourite" is not the same as "good". Some of the best songs ever written are not my favourites. But I think I might let my poptastic side speak and say my favourite song ever is Left To My Own Devices by PSB, because it is fun and I can do almost all the things listed above to it.
Day 02 - Your least favorite song
I hate tiresome, whiny R&B and it still seems to be everywhere, so I nominate Let It Burn by Usher as an example of exactly the kind of thing I don't like to stuff my ears with.
Day 03 - A song that makes you happy
Joan Armatrading's Drop The Pilot.
Day 04 - A song that makes you sad
The Drugs Don't Work by The Verve. And the video to Coffee and TV.
Day 05 - A song that reminds you of someone
Now, when I say Laid reminds me of Darien, you'll all think I mean sex, but I don't. I mean it reminds me of drinking in the Disraeli before we did sex. And then he put it on the iPod he got me for my birthday so I could be reminded of him while driving to work. Sweet, see?
Day 06 - A song that reminds of you of somewhere
Chaiyya Chaiyya reminds me of being anywhere on the subcontinent in 1998, when I was doing one of my deshi stints. You really couldn't avoid it. One restaurant I used to eat at played it six times at the start of every evening. Fortunately it's quite good.
Day 07 - A song that reminds you of a certain event
Me and My Teddy Bear reminds me of my first ever dance show, because I had to sing this fairly risible song and do a little dance with my bear. It was his first time on stage too. We're both performing again at the end of this month.
Day 08 - A song that you know all the words to
There aren't many of these, but I do know all the words to Ladykillers by Lush, and one day I will get drunk and sing them to Miki.
Day 09 - A song that you can dance to
I made a dance to Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want by The Smiths and I'll be re-enacting it this afternoon.
Day 10 - A song that makes you fall asleep
Brahms' Lullaby
Day 11 - A song from your favorite band
I had to toss a coin a few times to decide which is my favourite band, but I'm settling for Regret by New Order.
Day 12 - A song from a band you hate
Hate is perhaps too strong a word, but I have genuinely never understood the appeal of Limp Bizkit, because I have never been a 14 year old boy.
Day 13 - A song that is a guilty pleasure
3am Eternal by The KLF. Actually, I'm not even guilty about that.
Day 14 - A song that no one would expect you to love
I was brought up listening to a lot of classical music, which I hardly ever mention, so few people would expect me to love Bizet but I do and here's an Entr'acte from Carmen to prove it.
Day 15 - A song that describes you
L.S.I. by The Shamen. Which is also a guilty pleasure.
Day 16 - A song that you used to love but now hate
Well, it's embarassing but I did used to have the Jason Donovan album when I was 12.
Day 17 - A song that you hear often on the radio
Adele's Set Fire To The Rain is Song of the Week on Radio 2 right now.
Day 18 - A song that you wish you heard on the radio
I love it when the radio unexpectedly plays You Got The Love, and I wish they would do the same with Voodoo Ray.
Day 19 - A song from your favorite album
I listen to relatively few albums qua albums, but one of them is this one and I certainly listen to it often.
Day 20 - A song that you listen to when you’re angry
How Soon Is Now?

Zephyr Song by Red Hot Chilli Peppers.
Day 22 - A song that you listen to when you’re sad
Back On The Chain Gang. It's like a break in the battle.
Day 23 - A song that you want to play at your wedding
Never Be The Same Again by the Mel Cs.
Day 24 - A song that you want to play at your funeral
My turn to list I Am The Resurrection.
Day 25 - A song that makes you laugh
Canyons Of Your Mind by Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band. I also love Trouser Press.
Day 26 - A song that you can play on an instrument
The Fly by U2 on my bass guitar, but not very well. I recently noticed that Achtung Baby is U2 attempting to be the Stone Roses, who are of course one of my other favourite bands. Nice one, me, that only took 20 years.
Day 27 - A song that you wish you could play
Anything by the Stone Roses because Mani is a bass god, but failing that Kinky Afro. (I almost can).
Day 28 - A song that makes you feel guilty
A guilty song? I don't think I understand. Let's put it this way: I have never cheated on, assaulted or robbed anyone while listening to music.
Day 29 - A song from your childhood
The first album I ever requested was Boney M's Nightflight to Venus. And I used to sing You're The One That I Want from Grease in my pram.
Day 30 - Your favorite song at this time last year
Well, I haven't mentioned Pink yet so here's U And Ur Hand.
