Abbreviated BPAL Yule 2014 reviews

I have a bunch of testers of this year's Yules. I need to test them before the Yules come down in February. Unfortunately, I am busy as hell and don't have a lot of time to even put on perfumes, let alone write down my impressions. But if I don't, I won't remember anything, and getting testers (which is like a 1/4 of an imp) means I don't have a ( Read more... )

I think the Mari Lwyd would be the winner for me of this set, but I like lavender. And how many foody scents does one need anyway? Three? Five? Fifteen? (I have halfling, which seems to cover a lot)

I'm pretty sure I have at least 15 bottles of foody scents. My bottle collection (as of my not-entirely up-to-date spreadsheet) numbered 34, and with a few notable exceptions, most of them are foody. Matt loves foody scents, and there was one year where I was all DON'T HAVE TIME TO DO DECANT CIRCLES ORDER ALL THE LUPERCALIA BOX OF CHOCOLATES SUB-COLLECTION. Which is why I have a bottle of Milk Chocolate, Cassia, and Bacon, which neither of us ever wears.

But hey. Bacon.

I bow to your superior sumptuous smells. My collection is minimal. It doesn't even fit my 100 imp organizer.

Also, it's worth noting that Matt is looking for a replacement for the delightfully wine-fragrant LE Zadok Allen Vineyard, which is his go-to Johan scent (which he is almost out of). He has others he layers it with (Keturah Zadok Cranberry Cider, Fearful Pleasure), but none of them are quite the same thing, and like many apple blends, tend to fade quickly. So we don't need more foody... just one specific foody scent.
