It has to be better than the dub of Gankutsuou, tho, where "Albert" became "Owlbear."

OMG WAT. This just reconfirms my belief never to watch dubs ever. (Except the ones Disney does for Miyazaki, and maybe the Cowboy Bebop one.)

I've been watching old Bruce Lee movies, for which Netflix only has dubs, and every time they translate what cannot be anything but "martial arts" or "kung fu" as "boxing" I have to laugh. Wow, we were completely ignorant of Asian culture then, weren't we?

It's just the English VAs weird attempt at pseudo-French pronunciation. But yeah.... once you've heard it as "owlbear" you can't unhear it.

Unfortunately the dub was what was available on Netflix at the time, so the dub I saw. The shame. The Japanese VA for the Count is Jouji Nakata, whose voice is pure sex. (Witness: Alucard in Hellsing TV). I may have to acquire the DVDs.
