I took Brianna and Burnbright to the vet this morning--nothing alarming, just for vaccinations. (Lirazel had her turn last week). The hardest part was getting the Blueberry up the hill to the vet's office with an inch of fresh snow on the ground. They had wellness checks in May, with blood work, because they're both
señor gatos now, so there was not much to the appointment.
Was not nearly as productive yesterday (Sunday) as I would have wished. Did not do any sewing. Did edit 2.5 scenes of G&F. Around 9pm, I did a Google Hangout with some VPeeps and got some words added to "Before the Storm," the G&F-universe piece involving Serevic's mother. Even if some of those words were just [battle scene in which everything goes to shit goes here].
(For those keeping track at home--this was the piece Uncle Jim assigned me to write in my one-on-one with him at VP. I was supposed to finish it for him by January 1st. Ahahaha).
Other than that, I played TESO :) I made a second character, an Orc Templar, to test out the build I want for my eventual sneaky Dunmer Templar. The sneaking didn't so much happen. Ah well. I do really like the Templar abilities, tho!
I want so badly to TALK ABOUT THINGS about this game, but I can't, really. Arghehrhrhm.
In other news,
the Russian Police Choir singing "Get Lucky" may be the trippiest thing I've seen in 2014, and it's only February.
In other other news, things that have been on my reading list today:
-
Investment II: Creeping Dustmotes. A lesson in writing beginnings via notes from Diana Paxson to Sherwood Smith.
-
Django writes about the genesis of his new novella, John Golden: Freelance Debugger. I think this is the first time I've mentioned John Golden, but this is another piece I beta-read and quite liked.
- Another Django(ish) piece, because I am a Django fangirl:
When the Sequel is Better Than the Original. I disagree with some of these (the Fred Pohl, the Rothfuss) and agree with others (Deadhouse Gates WAS better than Gardens of the Moon).
