It does seem like Cottington Woods is struggling just a bit, and I know the staff is going through some major stuff right now, so I'm really hoping this all evens out.

I also know that it seems like everything is very expensive, but I also appreciate that they're trying to create more of a small town feel, so everyone will be on that lower level, and I feel as though I just have to try to adjust my expectations. I also realize that I spend a lot of points on non-flavorful things like extra HP and armor, but I want to be able to enjoy the sport aspect of the LARP (i.e. stay up in combat for more than five seconds as a melee fighter.) So it seems like my character doesn't actually have or do anything beyond the very basics, even though I think she has the max hit points. Most of my build has gone towards overcoming my combat inadequacy.

The rate the CP cap goes up seems pretty fast to me, so I'm hoping I will feel more useful soon.

I also totally sympathize with the shifting CP costs and the incredibly difficult cost/benefit analysis (I farmed my initial builds out for both Lost Eidolons and Endgame.) I really want to just pick what I want based on flavor, but I also know that I'm a weaker combatant, and I really don't want to feel useless, so having a well built character is more important to me than I wish it was.

The flavor versus combat competency is tough. We could spar a bit in downtime. I'm sure several people (like me) need practice.

I leaned heavily on flavor and suspect I'll role play unconscious on the ground a lot during combat. I have to get our of my habit of stepping up to the front line.

I'm always up for sparring practice.

My problem is two fold- I've tried playing the healer, and the combat caster, and ranged combat, and I just like the actual melee combat better. It's an enjoyable sport for me. Maybe I should give the other types another chance- different LARP mechanics support different things.

The other part of it is that I get visions of what I imagine my character to be, and I find it very hard to shake. I had an image in my head of Quill almost being like a battle-bot. And I could have redesigned her to be some kind of spell caster or something, but I couldn't shake the battle-bot version of her. So now she's mostly straight up combat.
