I can also sympathize if the thing they really dislike is obscure and unexpected. But if it's not terribly uncommon and their preference is so strong that they feel they absolutely can't enjoy a LARP with it in their character, they should think to mention it on their questionnaires, especially if the questionnaire contained an "Anything else?" section. And if they didn't, they should try to be flexible and apologetic to the GM.
I wouldn't call them a kookaburra. That's going to tempt people to sing whenever they hear it. And by that I mean I'm going to sing whenever I hear/read it.

Also, dingo? Cast them as the potted plant in the corner. If they have no interest in the actual thematic elements of the game, and they want a non-central role... potted plant it is! (Yes, I am referencing a larp you've played, but only partly.)

Also, I recommend "Cane Toad" for the players who don't seem like they're going to be a problem until it's too late. It captures the essence of something that is not bad, and is perfectly good and happy in its preferred habitat, but when put in another seemingly-innocuous place causes all sorts of problems.
