The Poet and Her Five Things

Feb 08, 2012 14:31

1. I love how I can still find new meaning and interest in Millay's poems, even after reading them again and again. This time around I'm enchanted by "The Poet and His Book".

(also, how great is it that much of her poetry is on Gutenburg now? I did not know this!)

2. I got some writing done today! One day this won't be so remarkable that I feel the need to mention it every time it happens.

In general I'm thinking it's a good idea to get my daily writing in before I try writing any fluff for public consumption (like these posts), so that I can channel that eagerness into something more... substantial.

3. We've been drilling parry riposte and counter-riposte in fencing, and it's starting to feel more natural.

4. Yesterday I went to Savers over lunch and came back with the first two novels of Timothy Zahn's Thrawn trilogy. I don't often read tie-in novels, but I've heard these highly praised, and hey, I am playing SWTOR...

5. Well of Ascension continues... slowly. My favorite parts so far have been Elend's lessons in being regal with Tyndwyl (sp?)
