Working from home today, on a site redesign. It's my first big project at work, and in some moments I regret being so deeply involved in it, and in others I'm very glad--the latter more often, because right now it's otherwise slow at our workplace. I'm taking my lunch break to catch up on blogs, write a post, etc.
Last night was our final session of the GURPS Renaissance Italy with magic campaign I played in very briefly--by which I mean, two sessions. It ended with us getting the Medicis kicked out of Florence (and some of them executed), so I'd say it was a success. I also got to be uber nunja-ly, sneaking into the house of the gonfaloniere of the signatoria and stealing the bags used in the voting process. Because, of course, our solution to "The Medicis are rigging the votes!" was "Let's magically rig them to be fair!"
I saw this
basic A-line skirt sew-along happening on A Fashionable Stitch and thought I'd pimp it to those of you who are looking to learn to sew better...
Also, I heard an ad on the radio for
a production of Richard III, "set in a gothic Victorian hospital and featuring evocative, bloody imagery in the style of Grand Guignol." I wanna go! Tickets are kind of expensive, though, at least for what I remember the Huntington Theatre being--but it's a traveling troupe, so maybe that's why.
Would anybody be interested in going with me? The ticket pricing and dates are sort of an arcane art, so I'm not going to list them all out here, but check it out and let me know if you'd be interested.
ETA: I created
a poll for dates that work for Richard III. Keep in mind tickets range from $43-$89, depending on when you go and what kind of seats you want. There are also limited $25 A and B seats available to people 35 and below, I guess? I dunno if that would be an option if we're going as a group...
