Here's me and younger sister, Jennifer, in the midst of the campaign my father was running to elect Harl Haas to the Oregon legislature. If you'd like a meta view, the back of the brochure features a picture of the candidate chatting it up with some local voters - ie my mom, her friend and assorted offspring, sitting on our front porch.
Actually, come to think of it, this is one of the few I recall winning--though mixed up with the ascendency of Richard Nixon. From 1970 on, though... many Wednesday mornings suffused with regret and melancholy. Let's hope there's not too much of that tomorrow!
