We celebrated x-mas on x-mas eve for the first time ever and it wasn't a complete disaster. HOORAY!
My sis was her usual psycho self and w/ the combo of my grandma and her taking care of dinner, cuz my Mom was sick, it was a scary ass place to be.
My sis doesn't like to delegate, she likes to command. If you don't complete the task within seconds, you are deemed unworthy and she goes off on a tirade. No freakin jokes!!!
She essentially ruined dinner for the most of us, but the food tasted good, so who really cares.
After dinner and some dessert, we opened up the tradition of playing a board game. This year, it's rummoli. The game isn't great with 10 ppl, not enough chips to go around. We managed to play 3 rounds and then it was present time.
It seemed to really drag on this year, as nobody had asked for anything all that exciting.
My quick run down:
House Season One DVD (fuckin sweet!!!)
Gift cards to HMV, H&M, LCBO, and Future Shop
New winter jacket
Fancy grown up shoes
Couple of shirts
Hilarious t-shirt to add to my collection
Booze
Cash x2
Socks, chocolate, and magazine from stocking
2 tickets to yuk yuk
Yep, I made out pretty well this year. It'll be fun to go and shop for stuff!
I stayed up late talking w/ my Nan about my step grandfather's dementia. She wanted some advice on what to do and I had to explain that my training is in children/youth. She said that he acts like a child, so I gave her some simple behaviour modification techniques to try out.
Then I stayed up talkin w/ bro until about 1:30. It looks like he's gonna be leaving high school (finally) and continuing working w/ the snow plow/landscape gig. It's hard being from Unionville and ppl expect that you do 'much more' than a labourer's job, but he makes good money and enjoys the staff, so good on him. Yes, I complimented my bro for once, give me a cookie. :)
It's now the next mornin and I think I managed about 8 hours sleep on a lil' love seat. I think the moksha yoga from this week made me taller, cuz I could barely fit on it. I'm sore, but it's x-mas, so I'll stay quiet about it.
We're gonna watch my gift to my bro of 'the 40 year old virgin.' I saw it in theatre, but have no probs watchin it again. It was freakin hilarious.
I was checkin out future shop's online boxing day sales and can't find anything that I want. Boo-urns!!! I've too much already.
Merry freakin x-mas to all,
J
