Guess I haven't written in a while. And sorry if I've been slow in reading/replying to all of your guys' journals. Sort of been in my own world for a min. Been going thru some changes since I've been out here, that's for sure. I'm not quite as mousy as I used to be, though I still have my shy moments. Gotten a chance to slowly but surely meet

I figured you met your guy thru some church group. I guess because I know you're involved with that sort of thing and plus my coworker is a strong Christian and met his woman thru a church/singles group too, :)
What's funny is my situation started off similar. I moved out here in May and started working at my job then. From the first day there, Ben was automatically attracted to me, not to brag. But ya know how you can tell when dude likes you? Follow you around, offer his chair to ya, gives you a free lunch....yeah! But working in my dept we worked and talked alot and instantly got to know each other. I told him about all my geeky interests, and him being semi-geeky himself, he felt a connection with me. He collects comic books and kind of acts goofy. Anyway we hung out a few times as 'buds'. What's good about Ben is that while he's kind of a geek, he's also very social and has lived a lot. So he counterbalances my nerdiness, ;) Which helps me to 'keep it real' with the rest of the world.
He's actually kind of a rocker type. He works a second job as a stage hand, moving equipment around between sets of shows, working on lighting, etc. He's a bit of a roadie too. At times at weekend-long shows in far places from the city. He's gotten me into shows around here for free or low-cost.
I remember it was back in June when he asked me to go to a show with him while he worked between sets. His friend was actually the singer and he had his band with him performing. It was a good show. Ben bought me a few drinks and we started to sloppily dance on the dance floor. I can't dance btw, ;) And at that point...oh I dunno how to even describe it. Just he put his arm around me as we danced and later on....he gently kissed me on the lips. Then we kissed a bit more. It was at that moment I knew things were different between him and I. At that moment I felt....like in heaven. Never felt anything like this before.
Later on we went to some more local bars (trust me the clubbing/bar scene is HUGE around here). Weirdly is I only started drinking last year and I never touched clubs. But I do on occasion go to them with him and some of his friends. Then he took me over to Alki Beach over on West Seattle. You can literally see all of the Seattle skyline from there, right across the water. It was a nice night and we sat on a rock on the beach. He was behind me with his arms around me, caressing me, and kissing the back of my cheeks, admiring the gorgeous view of the city. Most romantic moment ever! We never even officially announced boyfriend/girlfriend. We automatically knew, :)
5 months later we're still going strong. Already had a few arguments and disagreements, so we're still keeping it real, ;) But mostly we love being around each other. He's been a great help at work too, and opening me up to a new place. I think that's the other reason he was interested in me; I think he found my story about moving all the way from Indiana to Washington, quite fascinating and brave.
What's weird is somehow I knew this would develop between him and I. I could just tell by the way he acted around me in the beginning. But I like how things ended up.
