water dance; love for water and a glimpse towards shows and presentations

Jun 05, 2011 19:57

according to my schedule, im supposed to post this a day before but since i feel so sluggish, im drastically falling behind track. anyways no worries. school's coming up in a few weeks and tomorrow's my birthday. glad i wouldn't have to celebrate it for other people to enjoy and i'd finally be on my own space this year. a good change of plans, although it's quite bothersome and i might spend my day half bored. continuing, this afternoon i'd be talking about fountains and shows. i've mentioned beforehand in the previous selection that i'm pretty much amused with artforms like this. again, i'd sorta let the pictures speak for themselves. respect towards my sluggish ideal if ever that makes sense to you. at the near end of this post is a short review so after this i'd go back to enjoying my blueberry nougat.

WARNING: THIS POST IS VERY and i mean VERY IMAGEHEAVY

preview:

ill outline this post according to the sequence of events i followed on that trip...

fountain show that occurs every 15 minutes. pay attention to the effort and the synchronization between the water and illuminations. simply magnificent!

this is how it looks like when there's no show. still beautiful ey?

fountain outside some hotel which i forgot unfortunately. this thing hates me. i went closer then the water stopped pumping and it all got calm. power was like when rated from 1-3 in 1 then when i went away it directly resumed to it's original state, 3. IT HATES ME SO MUCH! whatever did i do to you? luckily, i managed to take a photo. i would NEVER forget you.

and another other fountain...

taken at day...

and one at night...

also a bonus fountain inside the establishment...

now moving on to the shows!

first is the thingy which i don't know how i would explain since i came in rather late.

uhh is it just me or ima yuki ga maichiru~

that was soo white x'mas-y? uhm are the organizers giving me a hint here? sorry for suddenly being lame

as it disappears and the ceiling turns out these sequences...

next show was from the same place but instead of the tree and all those white x'mas flashbacks, this time, IT WAS A DRAGON!!!

as the dragon circles, by then you should be throwing coins and making wishes. i threw two and luckily one wish came true! i know this is all just similar to a con to gain attention and haha, get changes and pennies but i'm happy my wish was granted. it worked for me!

as it returns down there like how the tree did.

haha because i feel like giving away the thrill and almost 5 USD worth of profit for the organizer involved per ticket, if you want to keep on reading on to get spoiled, dont tell me i didn't warn you.

we got the last show for the day, beforehand they were repairing the place in a matter of three days so we were fortunate enough to see it fresh and rolling again.

look at how creative they are. they used water to create patterns and to significantly distract people =)))) it was weird. usually in performances they give off this sound to warn the audience that the show was about to start. i didn't hear any warning at all so you're kind of like dumbfounded waiting there. maybe that sound only works on theatrical performances?

finally the show started. they're trying to portray the chinese zodiac.

after a few seconds of dizzying motions it finally stopped on the rabbit. for all you'd know, this year's the rabbit's according to that ancient great animal race thing.

then water came rushing shaped like coins to show prosperity and on the screen dome, images of coins fell down as well.

suddenly after all the coiny ruckus you are transported to another world!!! =)) you probably could smell sarcasm in here.

a stone dragon suddenly turns to life and circles around. hence the title of the show... dragon something... what was it again? oh just look at the ticket if you want to know!

it seems like the dragons each have their own themes or territories if the word fits well. for this one it's underwater. i purposely uttered dragons because there are more than one.

and you come back to the initial place and another dragon turns to life

for that one it's... the sea again? uhhh? but to tell you, i think this one's now part of the arctic region since ice shards where shown beforehand.

unlike the one before, this time you could see magical creatures!

now the third dragon. this one was a hell more vigorous than the previous.

after being cyberly devoured by the gigantic octopus, the last dragon came...

then you are transported to jellyfish world!

now this is sooo BTR-yy. raise your hand if you agree! =))))))))))))))))))

after a 30 minute strain in the neck i think i would rate this show 6/10, that is if you know my criteria for rating and if you accept it. you might call me harsh but what i think was missing here was their lack for explicit-ness. it was very unclear to me nor did i know what was happening. they were complete will all the audio and the visuals which mind you are pretty great but to complete a show you must have a story am i right? i know how much electricity and obstacles they had to encounter just to push through with this but to tell im not satisfied with the show itself. the only things that came to my likeness were the water element and the 3D CGs. i hope they do better and rethink their concept. a simple feedback from a spectator.

for looking through this post, i'll give you a bonus!

"water reflects the soul and the beauty that surrounds it" -lisa nougat. see my passion for this! i even made a quote =)))

hope you enjoyed this post as much as i did.
