I am having issues with wanting to get a tattoo. I want to get it to celebrate an achievement, when I get there, but it means that I wont be able to give blood for 12 months which I feel bad about.
People who get tattoos, get pregnant, or go overseas aren't selfish - they're just taking a temporary break. If anyone's selfish, it's eligible people who don't donate.
I can't think of anything I'd want to have on my skin permanently, but if you can, go for it. :-)
Sometimes your body needs to get a break from blood donation - I wonder how LS is feeling about his OS travels... it means he can't give blood for 2 years I think when he finally returns because he's been living in the UK (mad cow disease and all that).
Sometimes, a choice is needed. If you fell pregnant, you can't give blood for a year after birth, you could look at it that way I guess!
A tattoo is so PERMANENT though! What do you want to have?
Remember I spoke to you about my friend Chris Reid (well, really John's, but now mine by marriage ;))? If you want him to do it, I will try to pull strings, it depends on the size and time required cos for other new clients he's booked solidly a year in advance (seriously) and is only doing 2-3 tattoos a day, about 8-12 a week in total because of all the time spent doing promotions and stuff.
It's your heart that has to make the choice. Let me know if you do want Chris to do it though: www.chreid.com.au

I just worry I am being selfish, but I really do want to do it to celebrate what I have achieved (well when I get there anyway!)
