Business Trip

Sam is gone on a business trip, and won't be back until at least Wednesday evening. He thinks they might want the guys to stay another day, so possibly not until some time Thursday.

We did errands on Saturday and got me all stocked up with quick and easy meals while he's gone, and I've been keeping myself busy, alternating between EverCrack and Warhammer Online, and puttering around the apartment doing various chores and tidying. In a little while I will walk over to Target and pick up the prescriptions I put in last night. Later this afternoon, my friends should be online to play some EverCrack also.

This morning when I checked mail, I had about 8 emails from folks interested in a room I have for rent in Moscow. I blinked, reread them, and was still boggling. One kind soul had actually copied the ad text and, sure enough, there was my email address. Since I've never been to Russia, this is definitely kind of fishy.

I looked up the site and it looked legit, and the emails were various and polite and nobody was asking me to click and visit some shady website, so I fired off an email to the originating site's webmaster asking them to please remove the listing, and then sent an email with a short explanation to each of the other parties who had contacted me. So far I've gotten one reply that was very understanding of what had happened, and one more new nibble on the flat.

Hopefully the listing will get pulled soon, and everyone will be understanding that I don't have a nice convenient room to sublet. What fun! Uh oh, just got another nibble. Oh boy... one more sorry email sent.

Other than that excitement, things have been pretty good around here. We splurged a bit at Sam's Club (membership store) the other day and bought some solar powered Christmas lights, so I have them out on the patio charging, just to see how well they are going to work. We ended up buying video games, movies, music, rechargeable batteries, the lights, and a huge roll of wrapping paper, along with the paper plates and toilet paper we went in for. Probably the most $$$ we've spent there since we moved from Roanoke!
