VIP Treatment

I had a Dr. appointment today at UCLA, so I made reservations a couple weeks ago to stay at our usual spot, the Hotel Angeleno. Didn't think twice about it, despite the issue last time with the fire alarms in the middle of the night. After my visit I had received an email invitation to do a survey about my visit, and I took them up on it, and commented on the whole alarm thing. I got a personal response from the manager, in which he said to contact him if there was anything he could do for me.

Again, I really didn't think about that when I made the reservation, it's just a nice little hotel and very comfy, love the beds. And having an unfamiliar, uncomfortable bed the night before a dr. visit is just extra trouble falling asleep for me.

So we got there and checked in, and went up to our room. There was an envelope on the desk with my name on it. Opened it, and it was a note welcoming me back to the hotel, signed by the manager. About fifteen minutes or so after we got in, we got a call from the front desk, asking if everything was okay. Man, talk about feeling like an important person, lol. It was nice, and as usual the room was great. Even had a tub this time (sometimes it's just a shower, I believe), and I had thought ahead and packed a bath bomb from LUSH, so I took advantage of the situation. Nice and relaxing, ahhh....

The visit wasn't toooo bad. Another new doctor, but this one wasn't quite as bad as Aboulhosn. We did end up waiting quite a while in the examining room before seeing my real doctor, but I'm kind of used to that. :\ I agreed to try the other medication they wanted me to give a shot, and so we have to get that prescription filled, and the dr. said if I just don't think it's doing anything for me after a couple months, we can stop it. I am not going through the crap that I went through with the Tracleer. And I don't have to get bloodwork every month for this, though I do still have to go get poked again for a fasting cholesterol test, grrr. Oh well, it's only blood. :p

After we got out of the hospital, we went and had lunch at a little place we go to for breakfast with friends when we're up there, then drove up to the El Capitan Theater and saw Ratatouille, bought a couple of three-dimensional Pirates of the Caribbean pins at the Disney Store and Soda Shop, and looked around in a couple shops across the street with the Kodak Theatre.

A stop at the baseball card shop for Sam, and a detour to see the Kwik-E-Mart (7-Eleven makeover), then we headed toward home, after I got us turned around a few times. Traffic was kinda slow for parts, but down along the 5 past the Citadel Outlets, I saw the Harry Potter Knight Bus. Cool!! I wasn't near fast enough to grab a picture of it with the iPhone :( but I was able to post a comment on a friend's journal where she had posted around it.... surfing on the freeway is slow, but fun. ;)

Grabbed dinner at Taco Bell, and now we're home to relax. I looked up the Harry Potter Knight Bus, cause I wasn't sure if there was more than one or what. There is apparently just the one, and when I looked at the tour dates info, I found out that it was at my old library in Bellflower today. Now that's a cool coincidence. :)

Okay, enough blathering, I need more tea.
